Giving Up And Giving In

I’ve given up.

I’m sick of being the responsible one,
the smart one, the quiet one, the nice
one. The plain one.

I’m sick of being the boring one.

I live in the best city I can imagine to live
in as a teenager. There is so much that
can make you forget, be happy, lose
touch.

And I am young. I will enjoy this time to
the fullest. I am not wasting it anymore.
I’m done.

Mum, dad, I’m done. Nana, Gramps, I’m
done. Aunts, uncles, I’m done. Tante,
Ooms, I’m done. Family, I’m done.

Friends, I give in. Friends, you were
right. I should let go. Loosen up, and I
will. But I might need your help. For this
world, this drugged world, this wild
world, I do not yet know.

But I will know it. Because I have given
up.

And I have finally given in.
